Maui Family Photography Sessions

These Maui family photography packages are designed for relaxed portraits at the beach, your resort or another location based on your preferences. Session length depends on your group size, location, and how much variety you would like. Shorter sessions can work well for couples and small families, while longer sessions allow time for larger groups, multiple combinations, or more than one location. Every collection includes high-resolution edited photographs, an online gallery, printing rights, and guidance before your session. I can also help you choose a location and timing that works for the best light, weather, and your children’s schedules.

HOW WILL THE PHOTOS BE DELIVERED AND WILL I HAVE PRINTING RIGHTS?

You will receive an online gallery with your images. You will be able to download the high-resolution edited photos and you will have printing rights. 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Your favorite colors and what you feel is most flattering and comfortable on you! In general for beach photos, I love soft, light colors with subtle or no prints. This allows the sunlight to reflect beautifully off of the ocean onto the faces. I recommend no long pants for men and only long skirts or dresses for women if you don’t mind getting the bottom wet. it’s nice to put your feet in the water. Barefoot is best for beach photos.

WHAT IF MY CHILD TENDS TO BE GROUCHY?

I have three boys so I totally get this. I say don’t let it stress you out. Although it is nice to get some clean posed family photos, these will generally happen at the beginning of the session. Little ones tend to lose steam and don’t want to pose for 45 minutes or an hour. I say – let them play and run around. Play with them, run with them, walk with them, throw them up in the air, give them hugs and kisses… All of those images will be reminders of memories you cherish and you will love them! I promise! 

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?

A minimum of 75 images for the 45-minute session, 100 for the 1-hour session, 150 for 1.5 hour, and 200 for the 2-hour.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I love to tell the story so people can feel and remember their day through the images. What this means to me is capturing intimate moments, relaxed smiles, raw emotion, beautiful details, breathtaking scenery all while being as unobtrusive as possible. 

HOW DO I BOOK THE DATE?

If I am available for your date, and you are ready to confirm – GREAT! I can email over a contract and require a $100 retainer for portrait sessions

(which is applied to the total package cost). The remaining balance is due the day before the session. 

HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

Your edited online gallery is delivered within 1–2 weeks of your session.

DO I NEED A PERMIT FOR A BEACH SESSION?

No – I obtain the state beach permit for your session and the cost is included in your package.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PHOTOGRAPHING FAMILIES ON MAUI?

Since 2007. Alongside family portraits I photograph maternity, newborn, and event sessions, as well as weddings.

WHERE ON MAUI DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH FAMILY SESSIONS?

Most sessions take place around Wailea and Makena or Kapalua (Ka'anapali beach is off limits for professional photography and Kapalua is one the closest areas to it). I also offer photo sessions in Upcountry Maui and Baldwin Beach on the North Shore. I am also happy to meet at your resort or another location you have in mind. I also travel to Hawaii Island, Oahu, Lana’i, and Kauai.
